Manila and Hong Kong featured in ‘History Hustle’

YIN. Hosts lifestyle show on the History Channel.

In “History Hustle” on the History Channel (airing Nov. 8, Sunday, at 10 p.m.), Simon Yin cruises Manila and Hong Kong, quizzing residents on various factoids about the city they call home.

Also premiering on History, on Nov. 19 (airing Thursdays at 10 p.m.), is “Forged in Fire,” with contestants building everything from Samurai swords to viking axes!

Other TV debuts: Nov. 22 at 10 p.m., “Countdown to Coronation” documents the intricate preparations for the coronation of Sultan Ibrahim Ismail, the nominal ruler of the Malaysian State of Johor.

As “MasterChef Asia” nears its finale, its Nov. 5 show at 9 p.m. makes contestants take on 50 years of Singapore’s history in a dessert, prepare a fashionable lunch, merge Asian flavors, and create a signature dish for a famous fine-dining restaurant.

On Nov. 11 at 9 p.m., “Beyond the Headlines” investigates the still controversial death of Marilyn Monroe. And the new thriller, “Zoo,” based on the best-selling novel by James Patterson, starts telecasting at 10 p.m. on Nov. 5.

“Art 2 Art” proudly announces its special features and guests for November: Tomorrow, Nov. 1, painter, sculptor and printmaker Jonahmar Salvosa; Nov. 8, Philstage and its president, Audie Gemora; Nov. 15, Palanca Award winner (novel category) Victorette Joy Campilan.

And, on Nov. 22, singing icon Dulce talks about her eventful life and career, and introduces her similarly gifted son, tenor David Ezra. “Art 2 Art” is telecast Sundays at 3:30 p.m. on dzRH and RHTV.

New cooking shows

The FYI channel starts telecasting “Say It To My Face” on Nov. 5 at 10 p.m. and every Thursday thereafter. The show helps chefs and restaurant owners make over their establishments and menus in the hope that their toughest online critics will change their reviews.

Other new culinary programs: Nov. 5 at 9 p.m., “Man vs Child: Chef Showdown,” and on Nov. 26 at 10 p.m., “Epic Meal Showdown” stages a delicious Thanksgiving Special.

At Festival Mall

This Halloween, children can become their favorite movie heroes and monsters at the Alabang Mall’s costume contest at 1 p.m. on Oct. 31 at the Carousel Court. Participants should act out their chosen character’s signature movements or scenes.

‘Single/Single’

This week, the sitcom’s two housemates find themselves in sticky situations they don’t expect to get caught in, with people from their past they never thought they’d see again.

‘Modern Living TV’

At 6 p.m. today on ANC, “Modern Living TV” features Espejo ni Pinggoy’s exquisite deconstructed found objects, DIY table settings by Paire, and designer Ito Kish in his fabulous showroom.
