Beauty stylist Ricky Reyes faces tax raps
MANILA, Philippines—Beauty expert and philanthropist Ricky Reyes is now facing charges for allegedly failing to present his accounting books and records to authorities for examination.
In an affidavit, the Bureau of Internal Revenue filed a complaint against Reyes as the president of Ricky Reyes Holding Inc., with office address in San Juan City.
The beauty expert was charged with violation of Sec. 5 and 14 penalized under Sec. 266 in relation to Sec. 253 and 250 of the Tax Reform Act of 1992.
The case pertains to Reyes’ alleged failure to present his books of account and other accounting records to the BIR for the taxable year 2009.
The charge stemmed from the complaints of Lorna Cruz, assistant chief of the BIR Revenue Region 7 Legal Division.
The BIR official claimed that Reyes failed to submit his company’s 2009 books of accounts and other accounting records for examination by an internal revenue officer.

Despite service of the subpoena, Reyes allegedly failed to appear and submit the required documents, the complaint added.
