As its Saturday show started, hosts of noontime show “Eat Bulaga” announced that there would be no commercial breaks all throughout the airing of its “Sa Tamang Panahon” event at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

Just when the viewers thought that he was already gone, Frankie Arenolli, a character being played by comedian Jose Manalo, arrived at the 55,000-seater arena not to spoil the day for Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza or “Yaya Dub,” but to save the day for advertisers.

Arenolli, who arrived at the venue aboard a white sports car, performed a short dance number while logos of their sponsors were flashed onscreen.

The brands were also attached all over Arenolli’s outfit.

“Nagpapasalamat kami sa mga advertisers na tumulong sa amin para maihatid sa inyo ito AlDubarkads (We thank the advertisers for helping us bring this to you, AlDubarkads),” said Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, a mainstay host.

Among the advertisers were a popular fast chain, a bank, food-processing companies, and mobile cellular services, among others.

As of 2:50 p.m., the hosts announced that the hashtag for the event “#AlDubEBTamangPanahon” has reached 22.9 million tweets. Tickets for the show were sold out in just two days after the event was announced last Saturday. YG/IDL
