Hillarie Danielle Parungao was crowned Miss World Philippines 2015 Sunday night at The Theater at Solaire Hotel and Casino in Pasay City.
The 24-year-old beauty queen from Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, will represent the country in the Miss World 2015 competition in Sanya, China, in December.
She succeeded former “Eat Bulaga” mainstay Valerie Weigmann.
Parungao has been named an early favorite to win the crown after bagging nine special awards: Best in Fashion Runway, Best in Long Gown, Best in Sports Challenge, Best in Swimsuit, Miss Figlia, Miss Phoenix, Miss Technomarine, Miss Solaire, and Miss Zen Institute.
Also crowned were First Princess Marita Cassandra Naidas, Second Princess Mia Allyson Howell, Third Princess Ma. Vanessa Wright and Fourth Princess Emma Mary Tiglao.
The pageant night was hosted by Miss World 2011 First Princess Gwendoline Ruais, Iya Villania, and Tim Yap.
Among the judges were Joey Abacan, Cris Albert, Vic Alcuaz, Fernando Carillo, Ben Chan, Celine Matias, Col. Ricardo Nolasco, Flint Richardson, Luis Chavit Singson, Franchesca Tan, Dr. Mary Jane Torres, Miss World 2013 Megan Young and senatorial aspirant Miguel Zubiri.
Before winning Miss World Philippines 2015, Parungao was third runner up in the Miss Asia Pacific World 2014 and was Miss Solano in 2005 and Miss Nueva Vizcaya in 2006. AJH
