Ms. Tourism International 2012 Rizzini Alexis Gomez died of lymphoma of the lungs on Tuesday, Cebu Daily News reported.
The report said the 25-year-old beauty queen, daughter of former Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) player Rhoel Gomez, passed away at 8:20 a.m.
Gomez won Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International in 2012 and was crowned the international title on December 31, 2012 in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.
Gomez, who was also crowned Reyna ng Aliwan in 2010, flew from the United States in January to join fellow beauty queens for the Sinulog 2015 finale.
She is the second beauty queen from Mutya ng Pilipinas to bag the Miss Tourism International title, after the victory of Peachy Manzano in 2000. YG with reports from Michelle Joy L. Padayhag, Cebu Daily News
