Lee Min-ho biggest draw on Dramafever

Korean actor Lee Min-ho is the biggest draw on Dramafever, the New-York based video-streaming website, according to its social director.

Dramafever, which garners over 20 million monthly visitors, is an online video distributor of dramas and films, nearly 70 percent of which are Korean dramas. Around 65 percent of the site’s viewers are non-Asian.

“American dramas tend to be dark and violent. But, for Korean soaps, although the scale is not huge, their plots are strong and soft,” Daniel Actor, director of social media at Dramafever, was quoted in a recent interview with Yonhap news agency.

He said Lee Min-ho was the most popular actor on the website with his dramas “Boys Over Flowers,” “Personal Taste City,” “Hunter Faith,” and “The Heirs” being hits.

“The Heirs,” which began streaming in 2013, generated $1 million in sales within six months since the service began.

“I personally like actor Lee Ki-woo but Lee Min-ho and Kim Woo-bin are the most-sought after actors on the website,” he said, laughing.
