Three ABS-CBN Global/TFC entries and one Star Music entry used for TFC’s 20th year celebration were chosen as finalists at the 37th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA), which recognizes outstanding works in the fields of print, radio, film and television.
Established in 1978, the CMMA aims to instill a sense of responsibility among communicators. This Philippines-based award-giving body pays tribute to “media products that enhance the human development of the Filipino audience through competent and professional use of media techniques.”
The ABS-CBN entries that have reached the finals are: “Ipagpatuloy Mo, Galing ng Filipino,” best secular song category (interpreted by Gary Valenciano, Star Music); “The Journey of Motherhood,” best TV ad-public service category (Tara Macaraeg/ABS-CBN Global); “TFC Connect,” best public service program category, (AJ Poncio/ABS-CBN Global/TFC); and “Juan EU Konek,” best news magazine category (Rose Eclarinal/ABS-CBN Europe, Ltd/TFC).
Awards night will be on Nov. 4, 5 p.m. at Star City’s Star Theater, CCP Complex, Pasay City.
