Gospel music tilt finals at Big Dome
The fourth edition of A Song of Praise (Asop) Music Festival, an annual contest for gospel music, will hold its grand finals tonight at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Twelve entries are vying for the title this year: Cris Bautista’s “Dinggin Mo, Oh Dios” (interpreted by Reymond Sajor); Jesmer Marquez’s “Alabok” (Jeffrey Hidalgo); Joseph Bolinas’ “Sabik sa ’Yo” (Ney Dimaculangan); Timothy Joseph Cardona’s “Jesus, I Love You” (RJ Buena); Maria Loida Estrada’s “Mahal Mo Ako” (Sabrina); Benedict Sy’s “Walang Hanggan” (Maki Ricafort); Christian Malinias’ “Kung Pag-ibig Mo’y Ulan” (Leah Patricio); Ella Mae Septimo’s “Dakila Ka, Ama” (Ruth Regine Reyno); Rolan Delfin’s “Ikaw na Lang Mag-Drive ng Buhay Ko” (Betong Sumaya); Leonardo de Jesus III’s “Pahintulutan Mo” (Philippe Go); Dennis Roxas’ “Salamat Po, Ama” (Jojo Alejar); and Dennis Avenido’s “Pakamamahalin Din Kita” (Nino Alejandro).
The Asop song of the year will take home P500,000 cash, while the best interpreter will receive P50,000. Allan Policarpio
