Hear the people sing again and again
BEFORE “Les Misérables” hits Manila for the first time in March next year, fans of the iconic theater production may want to check out the coming musical concert “Beyond the Barricade” in the meantime.
Consider it an appetizer of sorts.
The critically acclaimed show, which will be held at Solaire’s The Theatre on Oct. 7, features four artists who were previously part of either “Les Misérables’” West End staging or 25th anniversary special.
Along with an ensemble of skilled musicians, Andy Reiss and David Fawcett (who played Jean Valjean), Rebecca Vere (Cosette) and Katie Leeming (Eponine) will interpret not only essential “Les Miz” pieces, but also a slew of songs from other well-loved theater productions like “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Lion King,” “Miss Saigon,” “Evita” and “Wicked.”
“Beyond the Barricade” is presented in Manila by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and Concertus Manila. For tickets, call TicketWorld at 8919999 or visitwww.ticketworld.com.ph. Allan Policarpio
