Filipino romantic-comedy film “That Thing Called Tadhana” bagged its first international award on Wednesday at the Guam International Film Festival.
The film, which was directed by Antoinette Jadaone and starred Angelica Panganiban ang JM De Guzman, won the Best Narrative award in the festival.
Citing a tweet of Inquirer Entertainment, Jadaone welcomed the news on Twitter on Thursday morning.
“Woke up to this. Yay! First international FF win (for any of my films) evahhh! Sweeter! Thank you!!!” Jadaone (@tonetjadaone) tweeted.
In an interview Boy Abunda on Thursday night, Jadaone said she was happy that the film was able to transcend cultures by showing that “love really is the universal language.”
Panganiban was also nominated in the Achievement in Acting Award category, which was won by child actor Buboy Villar for the film “Kid Kulafu.” YG with a report from Inquirer Entertainment/CDG
