After screenings in Davao and Iloilo, the Korean Film Festival goes to SM City Cebu (Oct. 1-4), before heading to Manila, at SM Megamall (Oct. 8-11).
The fest is organized by the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines and Embassy of the Republic of Korea, in cooperation with the Film Development Council of the Philippines, Film Cultural Exchange Program, Korean Film Council, Korea Copyright Commission, Korea Tourism Organization, SM Cinema and SM Supermalls.
With the theme “Strings of Affinity,” the fest features seven movies on diverse relationships: “The Thieves,” “Miss Granny,” “Cold Eyes,” “Front Line,” “Hope,” “Marriage Blue” and “Duresori: Voice of the East.”

Cinemalaya for free
Cinemalaya films from 2005 to 2014 are being screened free of charge at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ (CCP) Arthouse Cinema.
Films to be shown include: “Busong” and “K’na, the Dreamweaver” on Oct. 8; “Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros” and “Quick Change,” Oct. 29; “Niño” and “Requieme!,” Nov. 26; “Jay” and “Sampaguita,” Dec. 10; “Dinig Sana Kita” and “The Animals,” Jan. 14, 2016; “Boses” and “Gulong,” Jan. 28; “Amok” and “Tribu,” Feb. 11; “Ang Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa” and “Tulad ng Dati,” Feb. 18; “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” and “Kamera Obskura,” March 10; “ICU Bed #7” and “100,” March 31; “Colorum” and “Transit,” April 14; and “Brutus” and “Batad: Sa Paang Palay,” April 28.
The “Cinemalaya Presents” series is held on the second and last Thursdays of each month at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Tanghalang Manuel Conde (CCP Dream Theater).
