Jim Carrey ‘shocked’ by death of former girlfriend
LOS ANGELES, United States — Actor Jim Carrey says he was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of ex-girlfriend Cathriona White, likening the news to being hit by a lightning bolt.
The 30-year-old makeup artist was found dead in a Sherman Oaks home on Monday, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office. Her death is being investigated as a possible suicide, with an examination scheduled for Wednesday.
In a statement released Tuesday, Carrey said that White was a “kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil.” He said his heart goes out to her friends and family.
The 53-year-old Carrey dated White briefly in 2012. They were photographed together again in May.
