In a Facebook post, rock band Parokya Ni Edgar shared a photo of its frontman Chito Miranda hugging Kamikazee vocalist Jay Contreras, who appeared to be gripped with sadness.
Parokya Ni Edgar members have always considered, based in past interviews, Kamikazee as their “sister band.”
Kamikazee said it will hold a final show in December, but the details are yet to be announced.
“Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat, pasensya na sa mga hindi nakapasok, bawi kami sa December! Mahal namin kayo!” the band said on Twitter.
(Thank you all. Apologies to those who weren’t able to come in. We’ll make it up to you in December. We love you all.)
Kamikazee announced in January that it will disband in 2015 due to the members’ desire to explore life outside the band.
The hard rock group was known for their original compositions “Narda,” “Huling Sayaw,” and “Wala,” among other hits.
In recent years, it hasn’t produced a major hit that would have created a new following in the competitive local rock scene. YG/TVJ
