THE 15th edition of Miss Earth will be held in Vienna, Austria, pageant organizers announced on Wednesday.
Miss Earth Foundation said around 90 international delegates will arrive in Vienna on Nov. 18 to start their activities, while the coronation night will be held on Dec. 5 at the Marx Halle.
“Arriving on the 23rd of September, reigning Miss Earth 2014 Jamie Herrell is truly looking forward to promote Austria to the world as the most eco-friendly country in Europe,” Miss Earth Foundation said in a statement.
Organizers said the two-hour television special, which will be telecast and live streamed via Internet worldwide, will highlight Austria’s eco-tourism spots and its “laudable efforts in sustainable living.”
“Climate change will be the focus of Miss Earth for its Crystal Year celebration. The delegates will revisit and renew its campaign to influence people’s mindset that protecting the planet is a very personal issue and everybody shares the responsibility to protect it through the five key words: Rethink, reuse, reduce, recycle, respect,” Miss Earth added.
Miss Philippines Earth Angelia Gabrena Ong, a working student from Manila, will represent the country in the international competition.
