It seems that even celebrities from the rival show of the hit “Kalye Serye” featuring the love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, also known as “Yaya Dub,” have been bitten by the “AlDub” bug.
During last Saturday’s episode of “It’s Showtime” on September 11, TV celebrity Vice Ganda mentioned the hit split-screen lovers during the show and as a bonus, performed the “pabebe wave.”
Vice Ganda told co-star Vhong Navarro that his group could invite the AlDub pair so that they can win the “Clash of Celebrities” segment of the noontime show.
“Panalo naman kayo eh. Kung kailangan niyong i-guest ang AlDub, gawin niyo para manalo kayo (You will win. If you need to invite AlDub as guests in order to win, you should do it),” the comedian said.
Vice Ganda then did the signature “pabebe wave” of Alden Richards, much to the delight of the audience.
Anne Curtis, one of the mainstay hosts of “It’s Showtime,” earlier acknowledged the rivalry of “Showtime” and “Eat Bulaga.”
“I think it’s great. It goes to show that people are still into noontime shows. So I think it’s great,” Anne said.
As Vice did the pabebe wave, “AlDub” posted another Twitter record last Saturday as Alden and Maine faced each other for the second time, sending the social media into a tizzy.
About 6.35 million tweets were posted on Twitter with the hashtag #ALDUBTheAbduction in just 24 hours. AJH
