Sen. Cynthia Aguilar Villar guested on Bulong Pulungan at Sofitel recently. She sits as head of the Committee on Agriculture in the Senate. She is a good leader who stays focused on her job and advocacy, and conducts training programs.

Cynthia went to the University of the Philippines-Diliman for Business Administration, where she met her future husband, former Sen. Manny Villar. She obtained a master’s degree in Business Administration at New York University, and was a financial analyst and professor at FEU.

She helps farmers not only to survive but also to prosper. Cynthia has introduced product development through recycling of garbage into chairs for schools.

In Las Piñas, she and the community have planted many hectares with mangrove. In the making is a mangrove nursery and a museum. By 2016, this area will be an urban destination for bird watchers, with additional attractions like salt beds, wetlands—and the highlight, a Las Piñas-Zapote River Cruise. The Department of Tourism helps fund this ecotourism development.
