ACTRESS Anne Curtis, one of the mainstay hosts of ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime,” acknowledged on Tuesday their head-on rivalry with GMA 7’s “Eat Bulaga” and “AlDub.”
“Of course you know, there’s a war now between the fans and everything,” Anne told the members of the press at the launch of Smart and Uber partnership in Taguig City.
The feud between the fans of both noontime shows has become more intense now, especially on social media, because of the popularity of Eat, Bulaga!’s “Kalyeserye” tandem Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza as Yaya Dub.
But for Anne, everyone needs to relax amid the rising tension between “Showtime” and “AlDub” fans. “I think everyone just needs to take a chill pill.”
She also takes the heated competition as a positive part of showbiz.
“I think it’s great. It goes to show that people are still into noontime shows. So I think it’s great,” she said.
“It’s just evolving to what people want to watch. You have to go with the times,” she added.
Anne also thinks that the viewers will always have the leeway to choose whatever show they want to see on TV.
“Everyone has their own type. They can tune in to whoever they want to tune in. There doesn’t have to be any bashing,” she concluded. Arvin Mendoza
