After meriting a string of rave reviews from reputable critics (“Subversive… a winner!”) and earning a rare distinction as makers of an indie box-office success, Origin8, the team behind “Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington,” threw a victory party at Chef Patung’s Private Dining resto in Quezon City two weeks ago.
The celebration was led by writer-director Jade Castro and cast members Janice de Belen, Mailes Kanapi, Kerbie Zamora and Martin Escudero.
Fellow indie filmmakers Adolfo Alix Jr. and Raya Martin were on hand to toast the triumph (and persistence) of the “Zombadings” team.
Also spotted at the “Zombadings” bash were actress Evelyn Vargas and Cinema One’s Ronald Arguelles, artist Kawayan de Guia and Up Dharma Down singer Armi Millare and Origin8’s Emmanuel de la Cruz, Michiko Yamamoto and Katski Flores.
“We’re a certified hit,” said writer-producer Raymond Lee of Origin8.
Judging from the goodwill and positive vibes at the Zombash, the Origin8 team is more than ready for a follow-up.
