Catchy second single from Joanna Ampil
Joanna Ampil is back in the spotlight with the release of her second single, “The Only Place To Be,” culled from her self-titled album from Viva. The uplifting tune was written by Ed Fox, with a music video directed by Paulo Villaluz.
The seasoned performer’s musical-theater roots are evident in the catchy track. She has essayed plum roles in “Miss Saigon,” “Les Miserables” and “Cats,” and is now reestablishing herself on the local music scene after years of working abroad.
Ampil’s album also features a duet with Mark Bautista (“Kumusta Ka?”), while the British pop-classical crossover group, Blake, sings with her in a cover of “Kailangan Kita.” Another guest is Martin Nievera, who performs with her in “Never Thought I’d Feel This Way.”
