LOS ANGELES— “Jackass” star Steve-O will face five criminal charges after he climbed a crane in Hollywood to protest SeaWorld and drew dozens of emergency responders to a construction site earlier this month.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1PwgfN5) the city of Los Angeles will also seek financial restitution for the cost of the police and fire response.
Steve-O, whose legal name is Stephen Glover, faces charges including creating a false emergency and trespassing.
Frank Mateljan, spokesman for the City Attorney’s Office, says the charges stem from the Aug. 9 incident and a subsequent search of Glover’s house.
The 41-year-old, known for his outlandish stunts, scrambled up a crane along Sunset Boulevard and inflated a killer whale balloon emblazoned with “SeaWorld Sucks.”
Glover’s representative didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. TVJ
