Sarah Geronimo wins int’l singing tilt

Singer Sarah Geronimo won the 10th International Singing Contest: The Global Sound for her song “Kilometro.”

Geronimo beat out 26 other countries and their corresponding singers to win the award.

The countries who participated in the contest include The Netherlands, France, USA, Sweden, Singapore, United Kingdom, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Latvia, New Zealand, South Korea, Italy, Colombia, Denmark, Australia, Venezuela, Brazil, Turkey, Peru, Belarus, Argentina, Lithuania, Mexico, Malaysia, and Albania.

Geronimo first participated in the same contest during the contest’s fifth edition with her song “Sino Nga Ba Siya.”

For winning the said contest, she also made history as the first returning singer to win the competition and making the Philippines as the first Asian country to win.

The winner in the contest is determined by a jury and number of views of the official video of the entry song on YouTube. AJH/JE
