‘MasterChef Asia’ on Lifetime Sept. 3

Three Filipinos are among the 15 finalists in the first “MasterChef Asia” competition, premiering on Sept. 3 at 9 p.m. on Lifetime. They are Jake Aycardo, Lica Ibarra and Rico Amancio. Aycardo used to work in a bank, Ibarra is a finance sales officer, and Amancio is a paralegal.

They will be competing against chefs from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam for prizes, including $50,000, internships, unique leisure experiences and home appliances.

Digital reboot

Four eco-tourism groups in Aloguinsan, Cebu, are ready to move to the digital space after attending the four-day Panalo Community Training sponsored by Talk ‘N Text and organized by Grassroots Travel. They created demo websites and learned about travel trends, branding and packaging, blogging, photography, videography and social media marketing and analytics.

‘Red Alert’

DZMM’s “Red Alert” program recently partnered with Eveready, the leading brand of batteries and flashlights, for its Emergency Expo 2015 at Amana Water Park in Pandi, Bulacan. The expo underscored the theme of disaster preparedness as the key to safety and survival.
