Elizabeth Ramsey suffers stroke; Jaya asks for prayers

Singer-comedienne Elizabeth Ramsey, 83, suffered a stroke on Thursday, her daughter Jaya Ramsey said.

The soul diva made the announcement through a Facebook post on Thursday night, asking supporters to pray for her mother.

“My mama had a stroke today, I’m at my saddest but still praise God for He is in control! Please if you can, say a little prayer for my dearest mother. Thank you!” she said.

Bandera’s Jobert Sucaldito said that he had received a text message from Ramsey’s niece that she is confined at the intensive care unit of the Philippine Heart Center.

On Friday, Jaya said she would give an update on Ramsey’s condition, adding that “prayers really work.”

“Thank you to all of you who prayed for Mama Beth. God bless all of you and will update you soon of her condition, but I promise you, prayers really work!” she said in another post. “God be praised for his mercy.” YG/IDL
