DZMM TELERADYO’S “Dr. Love” show, hosted by Bro. Jun Banaag, OP, is marking its l7th anniversary this year. It is now the longest-running spiritual counseling show in the country, whose big following is made up mostly of senior citizens who stay awake until 1 a.m. to await the blessing in the name of Padre Pio, the saint who’s known to grant miracles.

One of the show’s regular texters is Dulce, who delighted the program’s viewers when she held a miniconcert on the show recently. In another telecast, the Four Tenors brought the house down when they sang an all-Pinoy repertoire.

The show began at Radio Veritas, before founder Rommel Lopez entrusted the program to Banaag. It was called “Sex Education” at the time. When Banaag transferred to ABS-CBN, he brought the show with him, but had a change of heart and decided to focus on spiritual matters—to “atone” for a personal lapse.

He vowed to spread the word of God through counseling and church services. When Banaag gives advice, he can be harsh, tender, but also funny and compassionate—and he never fails to entertain!
