Echosmith live in Manila: the cool kids are coming!
After their successful stint in Bazooka Rocks III last August of 2014, PULP Live World proudly announces the return of ECHOSMITH in their first full band solo concert in Manila this August 13, 2015 at Samsung Hall, SM Aura in Taguig City. The band is excited to bring their shiny and synth-powered 80’s-influenced pop-rock and perform fan favorites such as “Come Together,” “Bright” and their sensational hit song “Cool Kids”. Echosmith is an all-family band comprised of the Sierota siblings – Graham (the youngest) on drums, Noah on bass, Jamie on guitar and Sydney on lead vocals, guitar and keyboards. The band is largely influenced by Britpop giants Coldplay and their father’s favorite 80’s bands – The Smiths, U2, Joy Division and Fleetwood Mac, among many others. The members of Echosmith started out learning their respective instruments at very young ages. Soon enough, they came up with YouTube-uploaded performance videos of their favorite covers.
Singles such as “Come Together” and “Cool Kids” turned into resonating cult hits. The latter even made its way into the playlist of one of the Philippines’ indie/alternative radio station, topping the station’s weekly charts for four straight weeks en route to making the yearend countdown at Number 8. They got invited to play in Warped Tour for two years in a row before being invited to open for major acts such as Twenty-One Pilots, Owl City and Neon Trees. Later in 2013, the band’s debut album Talking Dreams saw its release. Echosmith received a significant number of big gigs and TV appearances until MTV selected them as one of “Artists to Watch in 2014.” “Cool Kids” peaked at number 13 in Billboard’s Hot 100 and eventually earned Platinum status in the United States.
In an exclusive interview with PULP in 2014, Sydney bared that the song was inspired by her own personal experiences as a teenager. “Everybody feels like an outsider at some point; I know we all have to some extent! But, being an outsider is exciting, because accepting who you are and who you aren’t is what really makes you cool. Accept yourself. It’s good for you.”
ECHOSMITH Live in Manila is presented by PULP Live World in cooperation with Lee Pipes and 28 Black, will be held on August 13, 2015 at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura at Taguig City. Doors will promptly open at 6:00PM, while show time is at 8:00PM.
