Gays envy cuties’ fine bromance

Gays in the studio are green with envy. They are livid that Cute Heartthrob is now the lover of equally Handsome Idol. In spite of the intrigue-mongers, CH and HI’s relationship is going strong, thank you.

What’s their secret? Well, it helps that they are both unequivocally gay.

No one is pretending to be bisexual, bi-curious or straight in this fine bromance.

CH has always been rumored to be a closet case. Curiously, HI was a cross-dresser and topped gay pageants as a teener. HI had to give up heels and tiaras upon joining show biz, though.

Still, there is no doubt that CH and HI make a lovely pair.

Piggy bank

Boys-for-hire thought they hit the jackpot when they met Flamboyant Personality at a watering hole one late night.

FP wanted to show off and kept ordering booze and bar chow for the guys.

After settling the bill with his credit card, FP went home with one of the cuties. Perhaps the aspiring gigolo thought that he’d get a hefty bonus from FP.

The following day, the gang bumped into the take-home kid, who was in a foul mood.

Turned out, cash-strapped FP gave his new lover a piggy bank as payment for one night of pleasure.

Perhaps FP was merely adhering to the jeepney rule: Barya lang po sa umaga (Loose change only in the morning).

Stingy boss

Workers soon realized that Graying Hunk was a tightwad.

After slaving under the hot sun all day, poor laborers asked if they could have a pitcher of water from GH’s helper, who refused vehemently. The maid explained that GH had left strict instructions not to give anything to them.

If they insisted, the garden hose could help quench their thirst.

Will it burn a big hole in GH’s pocketbook if refreshments were provided?

Stingy, much?

Rampaging materialism

Newbie Insider is now a pariah in the biz after making poor romantic choices.

NI broke the heart of Former Partner and hooked up with Rich Lover. Seems NI chose money over love.

Worse, NI is hardly discreet and has turned off not a few former friends.

Rampaging materialism soon caught up with NI who suffered a series of career setbacks.

NI was despondent.

Karma came knocking on NI’s door, in a jiffy.

Desperate homecoming

From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:

Seasoned Starlet returned to her hometown, hoping to borrow money from old friends.

Unfortunately, erstwhile pals have yet to forgive SS for disparaging comments made in the past. They gave SS the cold shoulder.

Persistent SS refused to give up and tried a different tactic.

SS claimed that she was selling certain prime assets. Alas, SS no longer owned those properties, which were repossessed years ago.

Oh dear.

Glam gals

ANNE Curtis’ sense of style is timeless yet fun.

Plains & Prints’ Roxanne Farillas has signed up show biz and fashion worlds’ most glamorous ladies to pitch for the brand in the past 20 years.

“The Plains & Prints woman is someone who excels in her field. She embodies what the brand is all about: classic, timeless, yet fun and fashionable,” Farillas said.

Actress Gretchen Barretto was Plains & Prints’ first celeb endorser in 2002. She epitomized sensible dressing.

In 2012, Plains & Prints also tapped Thai actress Paula Taylor because she was beautiful, energetic and talented. Stylist Liz Uy also joined the label’s roster of endorsers.

Today, the face of Plains & Prints is actress Anne Curtis who has been with the company for four years.

A show is set on July 23, 6 p.m. in Glorietta to showcase the line’s special collection with photos by Marc Nicdao and Wig Tysmans.

Top of Talk Show

For those who missed last weekend’s “Startalk” on GMA 7 (and why we are moved, if we are moved):

Ai-Ai de las Alas, asked why she’s helping beleaguered actor Jiro Manio: “Kung ’yung ibang tao na hindi ko kakilala natutulungan ko, paano pa si Jiro na ilang beses kong naging anak sa mga pelikula?” (Korek.)

JENNYLYN Mercado wanted an outfit that was tastefully done. Photo Courtesy of GMA 7 CorpComm

Ai-Ai on Jiro’s condition: “Nasa magandang kalagayan siya at nagpapagaling sa isang wellness facility. Sabi ng doktor, he’ll be OK in three to four months.” (Let’s all hope so.)

Ai-Ai, asked if Jiro is interested in a show biz comeback: “Parang ayaw niyang mag-artista … Kung ano lang ’yung ikakasiya niya, doon tayo. Ang gusto ko lang gumaling siya at umayos ’yung buhay niya.” (Show biz is already full of young people … but they’re arguably not as talented.)

Jennylyn Mercado on performing on the FHM Sexiest 100 runway: “Isang beses ko lang siya gagawin, kailangan bigay ko na lahat. My outfit shows a little skin, but it’s tastefully done.” (Once? We predict she’ll be there many times!)

Jennylyn, asked if she invited rumored boyfriend Dennis Trillo to the event: “Wala akong inimbita—’yung mga friends ko lang na bading.” (And you’ll get the loudest cheers for sure!)

Jennylyn on talks that some girls who made it to the Top 10 boycotted the event: “Ayoko ng negative vibes. Positive lang ako. Happy ako sa mga nangyayari sa buhay ko.” (True.)
