Former Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr. has been rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City in Taguig City.

According to his daughter-in-law Bacoor Rep. Lani Mercado, Revilla was brought to the hospital’s intensive care unit due to “metabolic encephalopathy secondary to dehydration and aspiration pneumonia.”

She posted on her Twitter account on Saturday night: “Pls pray for Sen. Ramon Revilla Sr. He was rushed to St. Luke’s Global NICU.”

Mercado is the wife of Revilla’s son, Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., who is detained for plunder charges over the pork barrel scam.

The older Revilla served as a senator from 1992 to 2004. He is also an award-winning actor best known for his movie roles Nardong Putik and Pepeng Agimat.
