Allen Dizon is a product of the adult film bandwagon—and a survivor. He’s gone a long way since he joined Ginoong Pilipinas in 1998. His first movie was Chito Roño’s “Curacha.”

He joined the movies to help his widowed mom. He shares, “My mother didn’t want me to go bold, but I explained to her that was just a job. With the acting awards I reaped years later, I’ve finally made her proud of me!”

The actor was recently declared Urian’s best actor for portraying a father who mourns the accidental death of his only daughter in “Magkakabaung.” He feels sad that despite the awards it won abroad, “Magkakabaung” has yet to be released here commercially.

For his next movie, Mel Chionglo’s “Iadya Mo Kami,” Allen plays a priest who gets the character of Diana Zubiri pregnant and is later accused of killing Ricky Davao. He’s also set to topbill a film about security guards, and will soon appear in the ABS-CBN drama series, “Doble Kara.”
