Nepal fest postponed due to quake
The Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival, which was originally set in Kathmandu from July 9 to 12, has been postponed due to the earthquakes that occurred in the country in April and May. Rita Thapa Magar, representative of the event’s secretariat, told the Inquirer that the festival committee has consulted stakeholders, indigenous peoples, sponsors and Indigenous Film Archive (IFA) board members in rescheduling the fest. Organizers extended its apology to all concerned parties “for the inconvenience,” adding that all the submitted DVDs “are safe in an IFA office.” New festival dates will be announced soon, said Magar, who promises that the rescheduled Nepal film fest will “be more spectacular.”
