The show isolates the housemates in a specially designed house fitted with cameras and microphones. The housemates compete with one another and face periodic evictions as well as a variety of daily and weekly tasks until one grand winner emerges.

The Philippine franchise of the reality show first hit ABS-CBN’s primetime slot on Aug. 21, 2005. It has so far produced 11 seasons in three different editions.
