Despite being involved in several rifts and word wars, actress-TV host Ruffa Gutierrez said she was never ashamed of her mother Annabelle Rama.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News Channel’s “Headstart,” Gutierrez said she could not thank her mother enough for the way she and her siblings were raised.
“She is what she is, you know. And I love my mom,” she said. “She can be noisy at times but she’s generous. She keeps the family together, that’s for sure.”
The former beauty queen, however, said the “very protective” Rama should loosen up some times.
“I really have to thank my mom for raising me in that way, being over protective. I’m very thankful. But mom needs to learn how to let go, I’m not 18 anymore,” she said.
Gutierrez also shared an instance when actress Sarah Lahbati, partner of her brother Richard, told her that Rama was planning the birthday party of their son Zion.
“She doesn’t wanna lose us, we are getting older, we have our own lives, and now she’s planning Elvis and Alexa’s wedding,” Gutierrez said, referring to the upcoming wedding of a younger brother.
“So what I think mom should do is plan her own wedding,” she added, exploring the possibility of a wedding anniversary. “She has been with my dad for 40 years now.” YG, SL /RC
