‘Halaw’ in Malaysia

Sheron Dayoc’s “Halaw (Ways of the Sea)” will be screened at the Johor Bahru Film Festival in Malaysia on June 11-13. “Halaw,” best film winner in Cinemalaya’s New Breed section in 2010, will be shown with seven other Asian movies “that carry relevant social messages.” “Halaw” tells the story of Filipinos who illegally enter Malaysia by boat. The fest will also feature workshops with speakers from the United States and the Philippines (Dayoc). Bayani San Diego Jr.
