“John prayed for the right girl to come to his life. He finally found her in Liv,” said talent manager Arnold Vegafria of his ward, John Prats, who tied the knot with actress Isabel Oli on Saturday morning.
Oli is Maria Olivia Daytia in real life. The two first exchanged “I Dos” at the Nuestra Senora dela Soledad Parish in Tanauan, Batangas at 10 a.m. on Saturday. They had their Christian garden ceremony at 4:30 p.m. at a nearby farm owned by the Prats family.
“As for Liv, she said she was a fan of John as a teenager growing up in Cebu City. She once asked her late dad to bring her to a mall there to watch John perform,” recalled Vegafria, who is also among the couple’s principal sponsors. Recalling the speech of Oli’s eldest brother during the reception, Vegafria said that for Oli, being wed to Prats was “a dream come true.”
Oli wore a wedding gown by international designer Vera Wang while Prats donned a Paul Smith suit, said Vegafria. They had two more outfit changes during the day. The couple used the four seasons as the theme of their wedding.
The church, which carried the winter theme, was adorned with lanterns, flowers and a carpet all in white. The wedding reception had the summer ambience, with colorful flowers all around, reported Vegafria.
Oli and Prats, who became a couple in February 2013, first worked together in the movie “It Might Be You,” released in 2004. Prats proposed marriage to Oli on Sept. 24, 2014 by organizing a dancing flash mob at Eastwood in Libis.
ABS-CBN contract artists Sam Milby and Angelica Panganiban were Prats’ best man and woman. Kapuso actress Chynna Ortaleza was Oli’s maid of honor, while Sherilyn Reyes and Prats’ sister Camille served as her matrons of honor.
“After this, the newlyweds will first focus on their respective careers. They have yet to schedule their honeymoon,” said Vegafria, who manages both Prats and Oli’s showbiz careers. CC
