Actress Diana Zubiri found a second chance at happiness when she tied the knot with Filipino-Australian businessman-model Andy Smith on May 10.

Diana lost her first husband Alex Lopez to liver cirrhosis five years ago.

Diana, who graduated with a theater arts degree from Miriam College and raised her 6-year-old son on her own, serendipitously met Andy on a blind date.

For her wedding vows, she strung together lyrics from 19 of her favorite songs and read it from her cell phone. Some of her fave songs are “Your Love (The Greatest Gift of All),” “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing,” “If I Ain’t Got You,” “Somewhere Down the Road,” among others.

“Guests found Diana’s vows unique, while her groom couldn’t help shedding a few tears,” recalled manager Jojo Gabinete.

Among the principal sponsors were Seiko Films producer and Diana’s discoverer Robbie Tan, Flawless’ Rubby Sy, GMA 7 anchor Arnold Clavio, dermatologist Isabel Lopez-Nazal, publicist Shirley Pizarro, director Mark Reyes and colleagues Michael V, Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez.

Among the secondary sponsors were Camille Prats, Francine Prieto, Roxanne Barcelo, Troy Montero, Will Devaughn, Sarah Jane Abad, Eric Tai and Diana’s siblings Zarleen Suzuki and Wilma Sarmenta.

The ceremony was held at Sampaguita Gardens and reception followed at Sampaguita Events Place. Bayani San Diego Jr.

THE BRIDE used the lyrics of her favorite songs in composing her wedding vows.
