CHA-CHA Cañete
Two-time international singing contest winner Cha-Cha Cañete, popularly known as “Bulilit,” was invited to join European singing competitions this year: the Aire Nuevo in Tarragona (Spain) in June; and The Star Rain in Europe, the 6th International Music Festival Program (Czech Republic) and the Trixie International Art and Music Festival (Bulgaria) in August.
The invitations came after Cañete was awarded the overall Silver Medal winner in last year’s Europop Contest.
She was also the crowd favorite among the contestants in the 10 to 13 age bracket category.
Cañete bested several contest veterans in various rounds of competition, as well as groups.
(There was no separation in the solo and group categories in that singing competition.)
Charie Vega, the national director for Europop in the Philippines, related: “Europe is waiting for Cha-Cha. They call her Thrisha there. They want her to join those international singing contests and festivals, as she has become a favorite personality in the European music scene.”
