Filipino actress Mercedes Cabral traveled to Copenhagen to attend a special screening of “Rosita,” with director Frederikke Aspöck, at the Hjørring Bio Center on April 14. The next day, she graced a preview with the Filipino community and the gala screening with costars, including Jens Albinus and Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, at the Dagmar Teatret. “It’s awesome to be back, to see the cast and crew again,” Cabral said. “I finally got to watch the entire film.”
Albinus appeared in Lars von Trier’s “Nymphomaniac: Vol. I” in 2013. Følsgaard was best actor at the Berlin International Film Festival for “A Royal Affair” in 2012. Cabral plays the titular character in “Rosita,” about a mail-order bride torn between a lonely old man and his son. It is her second foreign feature film, after Park Chan-wook’s “Thirst,” which premiered in Cannes in 2009. Bayani San Diego Jr.
