MANILA, Philippines – The show took a break on Holy Saturday, but will conclude the performances of the Top 29 regional winners once it comes back on the air on April 11. Nine slots have been filled and only three remain. Who will make it through?
The fourth episode will pit the regional winners from Cavite, General Santos and Davao. The all boys crew from Batangas &Cavite – locals Joselito Gustillo Jr., Christian David Amata, and Batangas’ Lucas Nikko Garcia will compete for their competition lives. The lovely girls of General Santos, 15-year-old Nikki Love Dumalagan and 14-year-old Avel Grace Molles, aim to show the fighting spirit of the hometown of our People’s Champ. Lastly, the boys of Davao – Ronnie Sarucam and Jestonie Divino – bank on their hopes and dreams as they travel all the way to Manila to fulfill and realize them.
After three episodes, the show has treated its audience (hosts and judges included) to incredible talent. Host Venus Raj says, “There are so many talented Filipinos. Despite plenty of singing competitions, we never run out of contestants. The raw talent is beautiful on its own, and when coached, could only get better.” Ogie Alcasid likens the competition to the good, old days of traditional competition where the only thing that would matter is for you to sing well.
The judges have had their hands full, with judge Nina saying “I am still surprised when contestants come out and show something different from what I expected. It is my honor to watch each individual through their unique genres and personalities.” As the competition heats up and approaches the final leg of on-stage auditions, Ogie leaves this message to us all, “If you want to chill out and enjoy music on Saturday nights, watch RisingStars, 10PM on TV5.” ADVT
