SAN FRANCISCO, California—Inquirer Entertainment ran into Eric and Jeffrey “Epy” Quizon last weekend at the 1st San Francisco Fil-Am Book Fair. The brothers, with their mom Baby and sister Madonna (both California residents), were manning a booth where dad Dolphy’s biography, “Hindi Ko Ito Narating Mag-Isa,” was being sold.
Eric said proceeds would go to the Dolphy Aid Para sa Pinoy Foundation, which grants scholarships to deserving children of Overseas Filipino Workers. “We have 10 scholars now,” reported the Hong Kong-based actor/director who is president of the foundation.
Epy was in this famous city by the Bay also because his 2010 movie, “Pinoy Sunday,” is among San Francisco Film Society’s Fall Season 2011 presentations on Oct. 15 and 16. The award-winning movie, directed by Wi-Ding Ho and co-starring Bayani Agbayani, is about OFWs in Taiwan.
When we asked the brothers to pose with their dad’s life-size photo tarpaulin in front of the booth, Epy playfully flipped aside a board partly covering Dolphy’s face. “He doesn’t like the sun in his eyes,” Epy said. “Nasisilaw.”
