MANILA, Philippines — Unconventional American violinist Lindsey Stirling has arrived in the country at 10 a.m. Friday (March 13) to front act for American rock band Incubus’s concert at the Mall Of Asia Arena tonight. Stirling flew in after playing a show in Taiwan on March 12.
Stirling is also set to play an intimate gig at SM North EDSA’s The Block Atrium on March 14, Saturday, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Avant-garde
Stirling is well-known for her unique artistry which combines dance and music. On stage, she performs choreographed classical, dubstep, and electronic musical numbers.
In 2010, she became a quarterfinalist in the reality television series America’s Got Talent (AGT), but she was voted off after some of the judges thought she’s lacking in some points.
But instead of causing her to go off-track, this setback worked to Stirling’s advantage because it was after AGT that her career skyrocketed.
Currently, she has released two albums: “Lindsey Stirling” in 2012 and “Shatter Me” in 2014, and she has already toured North America, Europe, and Asia in promotion of her second full-length record “Shatter Me.”
The Philippines is her tour’s last stop in Asia but on April, she will be back on the road to play eight more shows in South America, 11 in North America, and 11 in Europe. Her ongoing 2014-2015 tour will end on July 17, 2015 at Freiburg in Germany.
Lindsey Stirling’s shows in Manila are organized by Ovation Productions.
