MANILA, Philippines – Actor Robin Padilla was outraged on the decision of a Quezon City court to release Sajid Ampatuan, one of the accused in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre, which killed 58 people, after posting P11.6-million bail.

Padilla took to social media to vent his exasperation on the country’s judicial system, saying that he wants to leave the “forsaken” country.

“My Almighty God, my creator Allah, pls take me out of this Forsaken Land….” he said in a post on his Instagram account on Monday.

The actor said that the current government is powerless in making “powerful” men accountable for their alleged crimes and that decision to release Ampatuan is connected to the 2016 elections.

BACKSTORY: Ampatuan out on bail

(No rule of law is governing the country. The eyes of justice are not blindfolded. The government does not have “teeth” in prosecuting powerful people. The Department of Justice is run by syndicates. The elections are near that is why the warlords are now being placed.)

He also lamented that change cannot be attained in the country.

“I am sorry gentlemen and women of the Katipunan, no room for change in this country, all this i cannot bear to witness any longer,” he added.

Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 221 Presiding Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes allowed Ampatuan’s petition to post bail as “the prosecution panel failed to establish strong evidence that would warrant the continued detention of Sajid Islam while the trial is ongoing.” AJH
