Rapper Gloc-9 and Filipino pop music elder Jim Paredes were the main speakers at the first “Get Real Talk,” held recently at the Far Eastern University Auditorium. It tackled the current state of Original Pilipino Music (OPM).

The event was mounted by McJim Classic Leather, an OPM corporate advocate that encourages the Filipino youth to listen to, and support, local music.

Paredes and Gloc-9, along with label manager Jinno Mina, discussed their experiences in the music industry.

Said talent manager and music producer Chris Cahilig, facilitator of this first “Get Real Talk” and succeeding ones, “OPM can take the world by storm again, [as did] ‘Anak,’ the classic Freddie Aguilar hit.”
