More jicama delights

Last week’s article on jicama elicited requests for tips on how to use this nutritious vegetable. Some cool recipes:

Mixture of jicama salad with either of the following: red onion, ripe mango, pineapple, fresh sprouts, fried tofu, sweet pomelo, green Indian mango, cucumber or spinach with avocado

For salsa, mix calamansi or dalandan juice with olive oil, cilantro and a little salt. For salad, try miso dressing. Add some dalandan juice for a flavorful dressing, or mix peanut butter or vinaigrette dressing with the salad.

For dessert, you can have cinnamon-flavored baked apples and jicama, topped with oatmeal crumble, which is a sumptuous mixture of flour, butter, sugar and oatmeal!
