MANILA, Philippines―Actor Cesar Montano defended himself from allegations leveled against him by estranged wife Sunshine Cruz in a new case stating that he allegedly performed a lewd act in front of their daughters.

In a statement released through entertainment talk show Startalk on Sunday, Montano said that he is not a monster.

“I may not have been a perfect husband but I’m most definitely not a monster,” he said.

Denying the allegation, Montano urged Cruz to not use their daughters “to suit her own ulterior motive.”

“While we are threshing out our proper relations in connection with the pending cases we have filed against each other, she is dragging our children to gain leverage on me,” the actor added.

Cruz filed Violation Against Minor Daughters and Children Abuse charges against Montano before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office last February 3.

In the affidavit, the kids, through handwritten notes, said that Montano allegedly masturbated in front of them.

Meanwhile on her Instagram account, Cruz said that she only filed the complaint to protect her daughters.

“I filed this complaint to protect my daughters. The deserve to be loved and to be raised properly. Any loving mother would protect and fight for her children to the fullest,” she said on Saturday.

Last year, Cruz sought the annulment of her 13-year marriage with Montano. AJH
