Unfocused updates

Recent plot developments on popular teleseryes are sometimes turning out to be suitably surprising and thematically productive. The best updates are on “Bagito,” where it’s been “shockingly” revealed that Drew is not the father of Vanessa’s love child, prompting his mother (Angel Aquino) to lash out against her for ruining her teenage son’s life.

“BAGITO.” Suitably surprising development.

Trouble is, Drew already loves the baby and can’t let go of him—prompting Vanessa and her irate mom to seek legal redress.

Legal turn

Now that the series has taken this legal turn, viewers can get “educated” about the rights of the birth mother, and what Drew can do to keep “their” baby in his life, in one way or another.

FEATURED STORIES

Unfortunately, things aren’t as focused on “Forevermore” where Agnes is still nursing a broken heart after Zander dumped her in favor of his wealthy ex-girlfriend.

They’ve come back from studies in London, and it seems that Kate has finally given Zander his freedom, but he doesn’t know if Agnes will forgive him.

Perplexing

For her part, Agnes is doing well in college and has met a young man (VJ Diego), who’s made her a singer on his rock band. This is a perplexing turn of events, since Liza Soberano, who plays Agnes, doesn’t come across as a standout singer.

Adding to the confusing state of affairs are too many plot developments, like Agnes’ long-absent mom finally making a reappearance, just as her dad has finally expressed his love for Mirasol. And, as if the show weren’t busy enough, it’s launched a “senior” love team as an added distraction. How will the series be able to sort all of these issues out before its concluding telecast?

Finally, we hope that, before the now too-eventful series ends, it will be able to light a thespic fire under Enrique Gil, whose acting style has remained generally “befuddled,” despite the show’s plot’s many ups and downs, and twists and turns.
