David Pomeranz is back in PH with ‘Greatest Hits’ album

MANILA, Philippines—Grammy-award winning singer and songwriter David Pomeranz is back in the Philippines with a new album featuring what looked like the entire hits of his nearly half-a-century career in pop music.

Known for his enduring love songs such as “Got to Believe in Magic,” “Born for You” and “King and Queen of Hearts,” the American seasoned balladeer presented to members of the local press the 13-track collection of old and familiar songs titled—what else—“David Pomeranz Greatest Hits” album.

It features the album’s carrier single “Crazy Beautiful.”
He told the media he is “willingly, gladly and happily back” in the Philippines. The album is now available in music stores nationwide released by PolyEAst Records.

During the media launch, he thanked his Filipino fans for unwavering love and support for him and his music.

Among internationally-celebrated musicians, Pomeranz is probably the only one who keeps on coming back to the country for concerts since his first visit in 1984.

Even the perennial favorite Australian pop duo Air Supply can’t rival the reach of Pomeranz.

Over the years, he had shows in cities and towns in the country not even once popular singers like Sharon Cuneta, April Boy Regino or the come-backing Jolina Magdangal have passed by, even for pit stop.

In the south, Pomeranz had shows as far as Davao City, Pagadian City and Cagayan de Oro City. Up north late last year, he had a Christmas show in Robinsons Place in San Nicolas town in Ilocos Norte. He’s having so many shows all over the Philippines even the local media had lost track of his gigs.

He even sang in a book fair a couple of years ago.

But Pomeranz has given his fair share of love for the Filipinos. After the onslaught of Supertyphoon “Yolanda” (Haiyan), Pomeranz had a benefit concert for the survivors of the supertyphoon.

So who knows, the ubiquitous singer might soon have a benefit concert in Mamasapano town in Maguindanao.

As one of his popular song goes, you gotta believe in magic.
