Snarky Heartthrob’s zero thespic skills often caused delay on the set. SH couldn’t act his way out of a wet paper bag, his critics insist. It came as no surprise then, when SH was replaced by Handsome Hunk in a splashy project.
HH is not much of an improvement, but he’s not as incompetent as SH. In public, SH looks OK; privately, he seethes and spews out venom against HH and other naysayers.
All’s not well
Cantankerous Celebrity thought all was well. After all, CC had eaten humble pie and apologized to High-profile Frenemy.
Turns out, HF is unforgiving of CC’s petulance.
Interviewed about an unrelated issue, HF let out a harsh comment about CC’s childish, churlish behavior.
Wrong move
Charming Hunk committed a monumental blunder. He went online to criticize certain press people, zeroing in on tabloid writers.
Naturally, reporters wasted no time in making their displeasure known. CH’s offensive remark suddenly vanished from cyberspace. Unfortunately, the damage has been done.
Trust issues
Straight from Hollywood:
Popular Star is not easily intimidated by other women, and can be a cool gal pal.
At a glitzy party, PS was seen chatting up a storm with Stunning Models, as though they were bosom buddies.
SMs made the mistake of hitting on PS’ Hot Boyfriend. Posthaste, PS inserted herself between HB and SMs, who are notorious for stealing men who are taken.
Guarded moments
From the Inquirer tabloid Bandera:
Strict Parents gave Major Star a little “freedom” to date Cute Beau, but only if accompanied by a pair of eagle-eyed chaperones. CB can also visit MS at home now, but he’s confined to the living room. MS’ bedroom is off-limits!
So many rules, so little time (to fool around).
Top of the world
Love Day gets a lot mushier as the travel show “Biyahe ni Drew” airs a special episode with Drew Arellano and his wife Iya Villania. The couple celebrated their first wedding anniversary climbing the third highest peak in the Philippines, Mt. Pulag in Kabayan, Benguet. The Valentine special airs tomorrow, 8 p.m., on GMA News TV.
‘Teen Queen’
Show biz has given Kathryn Bernardo the title “Teen Queen”; another is “Prime Time Princess.” Here’s a new one: “Simply Pretty,” from Avon Philippines.
Avon exec Faith Fernandez explains, “Kathryn is the perfect choice to endorse our Simply Pretty line. She is young, simple, fresh, fun, vibrant, blooming.” Kathryn joins the current roster that includes Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis, Isabelle Daza, Julia Montes, Georgina Wilson and Solenn Heussaff.
Look, feel, smell good
As a student, David Guison was, in his words, “painfully shy.” And then he started writing a blog.
Five years later, his world had expanded beyond his high school dreams. His personal blog is now a fashion blog. He has traveled widely, met “a whole lot” of people and thus found a bigger audience.
David, 23, was recently named the new endorser of OraCare Mouthrinse—just the final touch to the total look he set out to achieve, he says: “Look good, feel good, smell good.
Top of the Talk shows
For those who missed last weekend’s TV gabfests (and why we are moved, if we are moved):
Ogie Alcasid on Kris Aquino unfollowing him and his wife Regine Velasquez on Instagram for making comments critical of President Aquino: “Nag-text ako sa kanya.
(Stop asking questions?)
Dingdong Dantes on the same subject: “I share the sentiments ng nakararami. Gusto ko malaman kung ano ang nangyari …” (Kami rin.)
Lolit Solis on Kris Aquino being in all recent show biz news: “Nagtataka lang ako kung bakit lahat ng usapan parang nag-uumpisa at nagtatapos kay Kris. Isa ba siya sa mga naging biyuda?” (Kami rin!)
Butch Francisco, also on Kris: “Kung ano man ang naglalabasan ngayon, ay bunga ng demokrasya na itinaguyod ng mga magulang niya.” (Speechless kami.)
Bea Binene, asked if she and Jake Vargas are still “on”: “Basta OK po kami.” (Whoa!)
Sarah Lahbati on her dream wedding: “Abroad. And I want it to be intimate.” (In three words: Away from here.)
Kim Chiu, asked if she and Xian Lim are close to being a couple: “Konting push na lang … malay natin.” (All this time, hindi pala?)
Xian on Kim: “Palagi kong pinapakita na andito ako, lagi akong nagdadala ng bulaklak … Kung gumana ’yung pa-cute ko sa kanya, eh ’yun, malalaman natin.” (No pressure; we’re cool.)
Melissa Ricks on being a new mom: “Sobrang happy ako … [it’s] overwhelming … and challenging. Natataranta ako kapag ’di ko siya napapatahan.” (There’s more where all that came from, promise.)Startalk, The Buzz
