Which of your love songs do fans best connect with, and why?
Zsa Zsa Padilla: That would be “Kahit Na,” because the message is timeless. Also “Ikaw Lamang,” which I often hear sung in weddings because the words sound like nuptial vows; and “Hiram,” for its haunting melody and lyrics.
Jay-R: “Bakit Pa Ba,” the song that introduced me to the Philippine music industry.
Tito Mina: I would say “Ikaw Pa Rin,” although my other compositions in English, “Both in Love,” “Got to Let You Know ” and “Honey” come very close seconds. The listeners who connect with them are romantically inclined themselves.
What’s the most important thing to remember when doing a Valentine show?
ZP: Be in your most romantic mood! When you feel love onstage, it radiates. People love good, positive energy.
Jay-R: Include as many love songs as possible in the repertoire.

TM: Go with the vibe and spirit of the moment.
What’s the sweetest thing a fan has done for you? Has anyone dared to ask you out?
ZP: Fans are the sweetest—they sent me letters, messages, trinkets, angel figurines … I especially love picture frames because I have a big collection of framed photos.
Jay-R: Loyalty is the nicest thing a fan can give me. I have fans who are now my friends.
TM: I have never been asked out by a fan. But once, I was really touched when one fan, having heard I was [doing] an impromptu gig, came from afar with a copy of a record of mine just to ask me to [autograph] it.
What can we look forward to in your concert?
ZP: Fun and music! Aside from Piolo Pascual and Ogie Alcasid, I will have a cellist, a percussionist, two guitarists and a horn section.
We have beautiful new arrangements of songs by female singer-songwriters from the ’70s, a Bacharach medley, a beautiful acoustic medley of songs by Bread and Sergio Mendes, Top 40 tunes and an OPM suite featuring my original songs and covers.
Jay-R: We will take all the lovers out there on a musical, soulful adventure that they will never forget.
TM: I will perform my original songs live, which should be a rarity here because I live mostly in Europe. I will also play the guitar—many of my fans … don’t know [that I do]!
