MANILA, Philippines—Supporters of the local film industry will soon be able to indulge themselves as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will open by the end of the month the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Cinema which will feature previous film fest finalists and other Filipino movies.
Entrance to the 120-seater cinema will be free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis starting on Feb. 26, according to MMDA planning officer and MMFF committee member Ria Rubia. She added that they plan to feature at least two films daily.
The cinema is located at the fourth floor of the newly constructed Institute of Traffic Management building beside the MMDA headquarters in Makati City.
Built like a regular movie house, the MMFF Cinema would also serve as a venue for various events of the annual film fest, Rubia said.
MMDA Assistant General Manager Emerson Carlos said the cinema would be an added attraction for students touring the MMDA headquarters.
