Kris Aquino: Erap Estrada called me to apologize
MANILA, Philippines—TV host-actress Kris Aquino claimed on Saturday that former President and now Manila Mayor Joseph “Erap” Estrada has called her to apologize.
Posting a picture of Estrada with her late mother, former President Corazon Aquino, on her Instagram account, Kris said that Estrada had been asking for her number from people close to her. On Friday night, after she “finished praying,” she got a call from Estrada who was in Biñan, Laguna.
“(‘Pag) hello ko pa lang, nag sorry (s’ya) agad, “Sorry, Kris sa pinagsasabi ng anak ko, ngayon ko lang nalaman, nahihiya ako sa (‘yo), sa pamilya (n’yo).” (Dinagdag n’ya) na naging mabuti at ma respeto kaming mga magkakapatid sa kanya. 5X nyang inulit yung salitang SORRY, sorry talaga,” Kris wrote.
(The moment he said hello, he immediately said sorry. “Sorry, Kris for what my daughter had told you. I only knew now. It’s embarrassing to you and your family.” He added that my sibling and I have been good and respectful to him. He said the word sorry five times; he was really sorry.)
Estrada is the father of Jerika Ejercito, who on Wednesday posted on her Facebook account that Kris is a bully “who cannot handle the truth.”

Sheesh…every night she bullies her guests on a&a (Aquino and Abunda Tonight) and every morning does it all over again on her show cleverly named (KrisTV) her poor guests publicly humiliated…she feels entitled to be BRUTALLY HONEST day in, day out…but obviously cannot handle the truth herself,” Ejercito posted.

“I said: (President) mayor, wala ho kayo dapat ihingi ng tawad sa (‘kin). Okay na okay po tayo… Napakalaking bagay po ng effort (n’yong) tawagan ako. Hindi po kinailangan pero MARAMING SALAMAT PO,” Kris wrote.
(I said: President-mayor, you have nothing to apologize for. We are very much okay. It’s such a big deal that you took the effort to call me. It was not necessary, but thank you.)
Kris also recounted how Estrada and Aquino remained as good friends especially when Cory was battling cancer.
“Naging totoong magkaibigan sila ng Mom ko (He and my mom became true friends, and) I know part of the reason he called me tonight was because of that bond they shared. In the year (and) a half our Mom battled cancer, president mayor Erap thoughtfully sent food (and) fruits consistently. I’ve never forgotten his kindness,” Kris added. IDL
