I missed Toni Gonzaga’s sold-out concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, but somebody told me that Toni’s boyfriend, Paul Soriano, seemed peeved at the off-color joke that guest Vice Ganda cracked onstage.
I clarified it with Direk Paul. “I know Vice meant no harm,” he explained. “It was all in the spirit of fun and I was game naman [really].” All for the love and laugh… of Toni.
Bonding time
DJ Mo Twister showed his soft side when he talked about his daughter Moira who’s battling a serious disease.
“I took a quick trip to the United States to check on her,” he said. “We had a great time bonding. She got quite surprised when Pinoys [Filipinos] in the States mobbed me. Every chance I get, I fly to see her. Never mind the jet lag when I have to rush to my show the minute I get back.”
Mo may be feisty and fearless but when it comes to his little girl, he turns into one gentle soul. Mo Twister becomes Mo sweeter.
Guess who
This politico from one fave tourist destination in Luzon has a penchant for sponsoring national beauty pageants left and right.
One would easily believe he’s a staunch supporter of local beauties. But the real story is he refuses to pay his sponsorship in full, even after getting all the publicity mileage he wants.
“He keeps promising to pay us but it’s been too long,” a pageant organizer lamented. He’s just giving us the runaround.”
Such is the ugly truth behind beauty pageants. And the loser is…
Proud sis
Jasmine Curtis-Smith is mighty proud of her Ate Anne Curtis’ awesome performance in the blockbuster movie “No Other Woman.”
“Her diet and workout paid off,” Jasmine beamed. “Ate’s body was at its prime in the movie. I thought I would feel awkward watching her do the love scenes, but ‘di naman [not really]. I even asked Ate’s BF [boyfriend] Erwan if he felt uneasy watching the sexy scenes but it was fine by him, too.”
Does she think her Ate Anne can go even more daring than what she did in the Viva/Star Cinema hit? “Kaya pa niya to do more,” Jasmine said, “basta [as long as] it’s done in good taste. As for me, matagal pa [it will take some time] before I can go all out.”
The little sister watches and learns from big sister till it’s time to seize the day!
Birthday thought
As I turned a year zanier, it suddenly hit me that there’s just too much “pollution” in show biz. Is that a sign of maturity or am I just dizzy from the show biz circus after all these years? So, in my own little way, I would aim to keep it posiT.V.(e). Down with the negaT.V.(e).
If you watch garbage, you’ll stink.
